April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her interest in music writing. April's very first song was called Different, which she wrote at the age of 12. The year she turned 14 was when she was devoted for a long period of time to making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. After a while, she began to travel with her dad as well as write her songs in NY as well as LA. April began also to incorporate additional topics that were related to of her friends dealing with issues such as social pressure and teenage suicide as depicted in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle blogger and working in partnerships with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large audience. She has a disability that is a component of her persona, however it's not all of the image. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore the fact that she has a disability. However, it doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. The point? It's this that we all share many identities, we're far more complicated than we believe we're. Lockhart, via video message sent from her Nashville home, says that I don't wish for my physical appearance to define my character. I'm more than my physical self. And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about things normally, and I've discovered my own way to adjust to things. The same is true for my personality, and it should be discussed. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that can last a lifetime, but she is an inspiration in this regard. She has had periods where she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and displayed her arms. Today, she wears what she's comfortable in and post images of her outfits to social media, she is proud of herself. Self-love, she says is a journey. It's not clear if you'll ever reach the point of no return. That's true of everyone regardless of the level of insecurity. It's important to have people in your life who know and understand your situation. They will be the ones to ask your: What are you worry about?
